The Mall Twin Cinema opened in 1972 with two 210-seat theaters at the Northwest Arkansas Plaza, better known as the Northwest Arkansas Mall.
Automated equipment at the theaters opened the curtains, dimmed the lights, and started the film.
Its first two movies were The Cowboys, starring John Wayne, Roscoe Lee Browne and Bruce Dern, and $, starring Warren Beatty and Goldie Hawn.
The Mall Twin closed on June 17, 2009.
