Geraldine A. Bender, 92 of Fayetteville passed away October 8, 2026, in Springdale, Ark. She was born January 29, 1934, in Oak Park, IL to Golden Reed Basinger and Opal (Cantrell) Basinger.
She was a retired junior high language arts and history teacher and a member of First Presbyterian Church in Springdale.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Reed Basinger, sister-in-law Carol Basinger and nephew Rick Basinger.
She is survived by her husband Robert Bender, one daughter: Vicky (Mike) Clifford, one son: Chas (Lisa) Ackman, six grandchildren: Kimberly, Julie, Kelsey, Chas, Jake, and Zach. She is also survived by five great grandchildren: Braden, Camden, Camille, Hunter, and Noah. And nieces Leslie and JoAnne and nephew Larry.
Private family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Butterfield Trail Village Foundation at 1923 East Joyce Blvd, Fayetteville, AR 72703.
