The Yvonne Richardson Center at 240 East Rock Street was built in 1996 and named for Yvonne Richardson. She was the 15-year-old daughter of Rose and Nolan Richardson, the University of the Arkansas men’s basketball coach, and died after a two-year battle with leukemia.
The center’s mission is to “provide a place of structured recreation, socialization, and extracurricular learning” for residents of Fayetteville.
It is operated by the city of Fayetteville’s Parks and Recreation Department.
