Tuck’s Spur

The name of Tuck’s Spur was mentioned in the 19th century for a ridge east-southeast of town. In 1891, John C. Branner, state geologist, referred to Tuck’s Spur as a ridge extending south from Pierce Mountain.

The Stone Ridge Subdivision covers most of this ridge today and it is often referred to as Stone Ridge as a result.

Refer to “Annual Report of the Geological Survey of Arkansas, for 1888,” published in 1891.
