This name “Salina Route” was applied to an early “highway” running west from Fayetteville to Siloam Springs and then to Tulsa.
A 1919 map shows the route going from Fayetteville northwest toward Mount Comfort, down the valley of Clear Creek to Savoy, and then connecting with the present-day Arkansas 16 route.
