The Malco Twin Cinema, the first side-by-side double theater in Fayetteville, opened August 26, 1970, near the northeast corner of College Avenue and Rolling Hills Drive.
M.A. Lightman, the president of Malco Theaters, joined Fayetteville’s mayor, Garland Melton Jr., in attendance at the ribbon-cutting.
The identical 210-seat theaters showed Paint Your Wagon and A Walk in the Spring Rain during the opening.
