Greathouse Park, originally named Oberman Park, was given to the city by Jack and Bessie Greathouse in 1954.
As early as 1908, a natural reserve is shown for the same general location.
The park’s 6 acres of land are at the intersection of 15th Street and Price Avenue and most of the park lies in the floodway confluence of Town Branch and Cato Springs Branch.
In 1974, the park was renamed after the Greathouse family to recognize the donors.
It includes a playground, parking lot and footbridges over Town Branch and Cato Springs Branch.
Town Branch Trail crosses the park, and the northern terminus of Cato Springs Trail ends in the park.
