Charles Finger, an award-winning author of children’s literature, was
born in Sussex, England, on this day and believed to be this year. Finger lived for
more than twenty years in Fayetteville and wrote more than thirty books
including Tales from Silver Lands, which won the Newberry Medal in 1925.
