Mrs. Minerva Everman, mother of Mrs. Annie Daugherty, died last night (Sunday, Nov. 22, 1903) at her home in Putman addition; no arrangements for the funeral have yet been made.

Mrs. Minerva Everman, formerly Mrs. V.D. Emmert of this place (Mt. Auburn, Illinois), died on Nov. 29 at her home in Arkansas.

Minerva Jane “Minnie” (Masterson) Everman was born February 11, 1833, in Montgomery, Kentucky, to Jonathon Hathaway Masterson, 47, and Mary “Polly” (Hathaway) Masterson, 37. Minerva married Valentine D. Emmert on January 17, 1850, in Menard, Illinois. Together, they had five children: sons Jessa, Jonathan and Charles, and daughters Alzira and Mariah. Her husband, Valentine, died in 1863.
On June 30, 1864, she married Ira S. Everman at Macon, Illinois. Like her, he had been born in Kentucky. He was a farmer. They moved west to Dodge City, Kansas, by 1880, and then to Prairie Township in Arkansas by 1900.
They had two sons, Leslie and Theodore, and two daughters, Annie and Lalla Rook by 1880.
