Enslavers in 1860

The following residents were listed as enslaving people in the 1860 census, either within the Fayetteville city limits or in the surrounding more rural Prairie Township. People enslaved within the Fayetteville limits are represented in red, and those living in Prairie Township are represented in blue. Two people — William Cunningham and David Walker — reported enslaving people both within the city and in the township.

Where known, the spelling of names is corrected in this list from the census record.
