1944 — The “White Hangar” at Drake Field was dedicated on this day. Built entirely of wood because of war-time shortages of metal, the hangar is the home today of the Arkansas Air Museum.
On this Day in Fayetteville History – June 28, 1834 – 192 Years Ago – A final patent for the settlement of Washington Courthouse (name changed to Fayetteville) for 160 acres is approved by the Congress and authorized by the U. S. Land Office. This handwritten deed is a facsimile of the original land patent and deeds of the day.
