Dr. Emile Bertrand Ader, 49, professor of political science at the University of Arkansas, died Thursday [Feb. 26] at his home.

Born in New Orleans, he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tulane University and his PhD degree from the University of California. He joined the University of Arkansas faculty in 1967 and, during the 1967-68 academic year, was a Fulbright lecturer in Africa.
Before joining the UA faculty, he taught at Tulsa University, Midwestern University in Wichita Falls, Tex. and at the Naval War College. He also served with the U.S. Information Agency and was in the Army during World War II.
He was the author of several books including “The Dixicrat Movement,” “Socialism” and “Communism.”
He had been active in groups throughout the country which promote the work of the United Nations and was a specialist in international relations.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Mariana Ader of the home, two sons, Robert Emile of New York City and Brian of Dallas, Tex., and one daughter, Miss Michele Ader of Los Angeles, Calif.
Graveside funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Nelson’s Funeral Home.
