Emma Webb

Mrs. Emma Louise Webb, 97, died at her home at 154 E. Meadow this morning [Aug. 28, 1964]. She was born Aug. 27, 1866, in Monroe, La., and moved to Fayetteville at an early age. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church and was the widow of the late Rev. James W. Webb.

Funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at St. James Baptist Church with burial in Oak Cemetery under direction of the Watson Mortuary.

Notes

Emma Webb came to Fayetteville in about 1920, the wife of the Rev. James Webb, pastor at the St. James Baptist Church.

She was born a little over a year after the final emancipation, Juneteenth, and died a little over a month after passage of the Civil Rights Act.
