Arthur Randall Osburn Killed in Bomber Crash

Arthur Randall Osburn, 21, was killed Friday [Oct. 15, 1943] night in the crash of a four-engine heavy bomber nine miles west of Blythe, Calif., it was learned today.
He was born in Fayetteville Aug. 17, 1922, the son of Elijah P. and Allie Gray Osburn. He was a second lieutenant in the army air corps.
Lt. Osburn graduated as bombardier at Albuquerque, N.M., and as navigator at Monroe, La. He was outstanding in athletics and scholarship at Fayetteville high school, from which he graduated Jan. 23, 1942.
Survivors are his father and mother; two brothers, Cecil of Fayetteville and Wayne of the U.S. Navy; and one sister, Joyce Ann of the home.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of Nelson-Savage funeral home are incomplete.
