Henry Ragland

Henry Ragland, 23 years old, died at the St. Joseph’s hospital Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 7, 1904) at 5 o’clock. The young man had been in the employ of Maj. T.G. Dabney in Misissippi on levee work, and was taken ill with typhoid fever. He was sert to Memphis for treatment, where he died. The remains were forwarded to Fayetteville, Ark., his home, yesterday, for interment at that place.

The deceased was the son of N.M. Ragland, a prominent citizen and
a minister in the Christian Church at Fayetteville. Young Ragland graduated in civil engineering at the University of Arkansas and was engaged in this kind of work when the end came.

He had been offered a better position with the St. Francie levee board, but died before the time set for him to associate himself with the board arrived.
