Marilyn R. Edwards, 88, of Fayetteville passed away on September 10, 2026, in Springdale. She was born August 24, 1938, in Hartman, Ark., to Virgil and Reesie (James) Patterson.
Marilyn was the former Washington County Judge and when elected she was the first female County Judge ever elected in the State of Arkansas. In addition, she served three terms as an Arkansas State Representative and proudly served as the Washington County Clerk for twenty-six years. Her years of service and dedication to the people of Washington County and the State of Arkansas were some of her proudest achievements.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Edwards, her parents and one sibling, Norma Hook.
She is survived by one daughter, Denise Davis, one son, Jeff Edwards, one brother Mickey Patterson, three grandchildren, five great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, September 17, at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville with Pastor Don George officiating.
