Judge Michael H. Mashburn, 78, lifelong resident of Northwest Arkansas, died Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born March, 1948.

Mike lived with integrity, wisdom, and a deep love for family, the law, and the outdoors. A distinguished attorney and respected judge, he found his greatest joy in bringing families together through adoptions and spending time hunting, fishing, and sharing adventures with lifelong friends. In recent years, his grandchildren became the center of his world. Remembered for his wit, generosity, and unwavering loyalty, Mike leaves a legacy of service, friendship, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and forever remembered for a life well lived.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. James Dean Mashburn, his mother, Mary A. Mashburn, a brother, Greg Mashburn, and a daughter Tricia Mashburn who died in infancy.
His legacy will be kept alive by his surviving family: His brothers, Steve and Scott Mashburn, sisters, Vicki Mashburn and Debbie Glenn; 3 children Meredith Mashburn, Courtney Hatch and Beth Tiner, 6 grandchildren Corbin, Taylor, and Kayla Tiner, Kalen and Ella Hatch and Skyler Baird.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, August 6, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Friday, August 7, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mike’s memory may be made to American Heart Association or Circle of Life Hospice.
