Romey Ronnie Thomason, of Fayetteville, passed away on November 15, 2016, at 81 years old. Romey was born on April 25, 1935, in Brinkley, Arkansas, to Booker T. and OraLee Thomason.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Romey was a college graduate and a teacher in the Fayetteville Public School System for 52 years. He was the recipient of many Honors and Awards throughout his life.
He was an outstanding Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother and Humanitarian.
Romey leaves behind his wife Thelma Thomason of Fayetteville, children Vicki Thomason of Dallas, Texas, Theonitta Thomason of Dallas Texas, Yolanda Thomason Vaughn-Jackson of Loudon County, Virginia, Orietta Thomason Harris of Denver, Colorado, and his only beloved son Cadmus Romey Thomason or Fayetteville; 6 grandchildren, Erin Harris of Colorado, Taylor Vaughn of Vermont, Trevor Harris of Colorado, Clarence Vaughn of Virginia, Timothy Romey Vaughn of Virginia and Trey Robert of Colorado; brother Booker T. Thomason, Jr. of Chicago, Illinois and sister-in-law Marsha Thomason, and brother Harold Thomason of Brinkley, Arkansas; nephews Michael Thomason of Chicago, Illinois and Mark Thomason of Chicago, Illinois; nieces Carla Thomason of California and Patricia Thomason of Memphis, Tennessee; and many other friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.
