WALTERBORO — Kevin Michael Cunningham, husband of Diane Stockton, passed away at his home Thursday morning, May 28, 2026, under hospice care, with his wife and brother by his side, at the age of 66.

Kevin was born in Fayetteville on March 17, 1960, a son of Lena Mildred Bohannan Cunningham, and the late Billy Hugh Cunningham. He joined the United States Army in 1982, and became a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was deployed to the Sinai in 1983. Kevin served his country honorably and, after his discharge, earned a B.A. Degree in Political Science from the University of Arkansas. He became an attorney and practiced law in Tega Cay, S.C., and was later a construction consultant in Charleston.
Kevin enjoyed photography and riding motorcycles. He was a drone pilot and model rocketeer. He loved history, and was an active member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
In addition to his wife Diane and his mother Mildred, Kevin is survived by his son Nicholas, by his daughter Kelly, by his brother Bill, and by his sister Karen. He leaves behind many cherished friends and acquaintances. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his first wife Donna Lynn Rainey Cunningham.
Funeral services, with military honors, will be held Friday afternoon, June 26, 2026 at noon at the Beaufort National Cemetery. Parker-Rhoden Funeral Home of Walterboro is in charge of arrangements.
