Noah Carnahan Adams was born on June 5, 1891, in Prairie Grove, Ark. He was the son of William Harrison and Sarah Matilda Carnahan Adams.
He was in the first graduating class of Fayetteville High School in 1911 and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1914 with a civil engineering degree. After college he went to work for E.N. Gillespie of Pittsburg, Pa., and Tulsa, Okla. He married his high school classmate Bess Philips on June 5, 1917, in Washington County, Ark.
In late 1917 he was proposed as a member of American Institute of Mining Engineers having spent three and a half years as a geologist in prospective oil fields in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. In 1920 he was living in Tulsa, with his wife, Bess and daughter, Martha Ruth. His wife died of pneumonia on Feb. 6, 1922. He married second to Katherine J. Farrer on May 5, 1923. In 1926 he was vice president of Adkay Petroleum Company in Tulsa.
Noah died on April 8, 1927, at the age of 35 and is buried in Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville. He was survived by his wife Katherine, his daughter, Martha Ruth, age 8 and his son, Philip, age 6.
