Wilson Springs Nature Preserve

The Wilson Springs Nature Preserve is a 121-acre prairie wetland surrounding the large Wilson Springs and owned by the Northwest Arkansas Land Trust.

It is located just west of the Sam’s Club store at the intersection of Garland Avenue and Truckers Drive, and it extends west to Deane Solomon Road.

Micro-habitats in the preserve include riparian zones surrounding the springs and upper Clabber Creek, seasonal wetlands, tall grass prairie and oak barrens, all of which support a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Members of the NWA Land Trust spent seven years clearing out invasive species of plants from the preserve, and dedication of the Wilson Springs Nature Preserve occurred Sept. 7, 2019.

Three foot trails lead through and around the preserve with a total of more than a mile of trail.

They include:

  • Hardimero Trail
  • Prairie Mound Spur
  • Savannah Loop
  • Underwood Trail and Loop
