Clear Creek Academy

This early academy was on the Bridenthall Farm about a quarter mile north of Mud Creek and not actually on Clear Creek but fairly near the present-day intersection of College Avenue and Joyce Boulevard.

It consisted of a single one-story frame structure about 24 feet by 36 feet with two doors, a traditional choice to allow female students to enter through one door and male students the other. It operated after the Civil War until some point in the 1870s.
