Sidney Clinton Bowman, 75, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at home on December 9, 2025. He was born on May 13, 1950, on Venus Mountain in Madison County to Helene and Vernon Bowman.

Sidney was the loving husband of Shirley and a proud father to two daughters, Holly Bowman and Machele Bowen, and a stepson, Casey Lee. He had a close bond with his son-in-law, Shannon Bowen, whom he always considered his own son. He also had a close bond with Richard Rose, a lifelong friend. He was the brother of Ray Glen, Ruben, Rita Mae, Ray, and Rex. He was blessed with three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who were constant sources of joy.
Sidney was known for being incredibly hardworking and doing things his own way. He ran his own tree-trimming business for years alongside his son-in-law, Shannon, and folks would joke they didn’t even see him leave the ground before he was already at the top of the tree. He retired as a heavy equipment operator for Bayarri Construction in 2019 after 27 years of service, where he worked for Fadil Bayyari as a loyal employee.
Over the years, Sidney built an impressive collection of classic cars. He loved the outdoors and was a dedicated family man. If you ever sat down to play dominoes with him, you were probably about to lose. He could beat anyone, and he’d do it with a smile.
He never missed an episode of Judge Judy, and he had memorized every episode of The Andy Griffith Show. He could quote them word for word, usually right before the characters did, and he always got a kick out of it.
Sidney had a big heart, a large circle of friends, and loved to have a good time. He leaves behind countless stories and a whole lot of laughter. Sidney will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, and all who were lucky enough to know him.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 5-7 PM at Beard’s Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville.
Graveside services will be 12:00 PM Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Venus Cemetery in Madison County.
