Gordon Elliott Mhoon

Gordon Elliott Mhoon died at his home on Monday, February 6, 2012. Mr. Mhoon was a life-long resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and was born on August 15, 1913 in the Round Mountain Community.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II, and retired from the city of Fayetteville as manager of the Lake Sequoyah boat dock. He enjoyed spending time with his family, as well as fishing, hunting and trapping.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James M. and Fannie Elliott Mhoon; his wife, Ilah Todd Mhoon; and four brothers. He is survived by four children, Phillip L. Mhoon and wife Sharon, Shirley F. Blackston and husband Jim, Roger G. Mhoon and wife Peggy, and Shane M. Mhoon and wife Kayla; seven grandchildren, Deborah Stephens, Becky Ivey and her husband Van, Marty Powers and wife Kendal, Jeff Mhoon and wife Heather, Blue Mhoon and wife Amanda, Brian Mhoon and wife Thipp, and Sarah Mhoon; three step-grandchildren, Bobby Blackston, Shawni Dombroski and husband Rick, and Shad Blackston; nine great-grandchildren, Ryan Lerz, Lauran Elam, Adam Ivey, Allison Soeung and husband Randy, Jordon Powers, Alex Ivey, Hannah Powers, Carly Geanolous and husband Jarrett, and Addison Mhoon; four step-great-grandchildren, Dominic Cromett, Andrew Cromett, Rachel Dombroski, and Jarrod Dombroski; and 3 great-great-grandchildren, Julie Williams, Miles Lerz, and Camille Soeung.

Friends and family are invited to remember Gordon at a memorial service to be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the Round Mountain Community, 14535 Round Mountain Community Road, WC 301, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
