1882 — Close to 5,000 people turned out for the arrival of the first train to Fayetteville, a Frisco engine that pulled a baggage car, a passenger coach named "Fayetteville," and the general manager's car. Trimmed with flags, bunting and evergreens, the train came as far south as present-day North Street.
