Built in 1905 and 1906 as the University of Arkansas's first chemistry building, the two-story was designed by Charles L. Thompson and O.L. Gates of Little Rock. It's hipped roofs are an echo of Carnall Hall, also designed and built at the same time. After construction of a new chemistry building, this was used as the Law School, then as offices and classrooms for the psychology and geology departments and today is home to the School of Social Work.
