The Chief Motel has been a mainstay of North College Avenue for more than four decades. The motel boasted room service, room phones, television, background music, a large pool, fireproof and soundproof rooms, and air-conditioning when it opened. This card was unposted and circa 1965. The photos were by Jack Moncrief Photography and printed by the Aurora Postcard Company of Aurora, Missouri. Today, the motel looks very much as it did when it was built, although the Chief Restaurant is now called the Pesto Cafe.
