Oak Plaza Shopping Center opened in 1964 at the northeast corner of Garland Avenue and an earlier alignment of North Street. Early tenants included the Oak Plaza Laundry, an office of the Arkansas Rehabilitation Service, Oak Plaza Barbershop, Jim’s Thriftimart and Oak Plaza Pharmacy.
